Police Investigate Robbery In Which Suspect Posed As Verizon Worker

State police are on the hunt for a man who posed as a Verizon employee while visiting a home and then allegedly stole the homeowner's wallet.

The incident took place around 11:10 a.m. Thursday on Scarborough Lane in the Town of Wappinger when state police said a middle-aged man knocked on the door of the home and said he had a "special upgrade package" to offer from Verizon.

He then entered the home and pushed the woman before stealing her wallet and fleeing, state police said.

The man, who did not display any credentials or any type of Verizon insignia, is described as being 5-foot-7, average build, short dark hair, wearing a dark gray short sleeve button down shirt, blue pants and dark shoes, state police said.
